Overlooking one of the most striking white-sand beaches in Western Florida, Barefoot Beach lies a short distance north of Naples FL, on the outskirts of Bonita Springs. The community is almost equidistant between Naples and Fort Myers (a few miles north), but despite its popularity amongst commuters, it has managed to keep its original out-of-town charm.

Barefoot Beach offers over 3 miles of white sand beach and is set on the western edge of the northern reaches of a lush nature preserve that shares its name. In total, the area covers some 460 acres, running south from Bonita Beach Road, along Barefoot Beach Boulevard to Wiggins Island and the Barefoot Beach State Preserve. One of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands in the region, this preserve is the natural habitat of dozens of species, like tortoises and ospreys. And several programs are available, as well as a Learning Center where the intricacies of the local ecosystem can be learned, offering an ideal family day out.
Residences occupy the northern half of the area, and comprises five main sub-divisions – Bayfront Gardens, Beach Gardens, Southport-on-the-Bay, The Cottages and The Villas. Properties range from 1,500 sq ft condominiums in modern, well-maintained complexes to 10,000 sq ft luxury homes and beach-side villas. But whatever the category, property owners can enjoy their sporting passions, whether that be fishing and boating on the Gulf, or hiking through the local preserve along specially created nature trails.
