There are 15 acres of luxury, beauty, and seclusion nestled along the south end of Marco Island that beckon snowbirds and other visitors like a siren song. Those 15 acres are home to Shipps Landing I, II & III, a complex of condominium paradise.
Typically, when people consider a stay on Marco Island, the question is asked, “Do we want to stay at a boating condo or do we want to stay at a beach front condo?” Sometimes that can cause a minor difference of opinion in the household, but not at Shipps Landing. These luxury, waterfront condos have both a private beach and private marina on site and either one is only a short walk away along private paths.
Whether you prefer the Old Florida look of the two-story complex and its spacious grounds that face the beach, the high-rise at the end of the beach, or the one adjacent to the marina, you will be glad you chose to stay at Shipps Landing. The complex faces south, overlooking Caxambas Bay, a perfect spot for relaxing on the beach in the sun’s rays all day long or for launching your yacht directly into the bay to make a starboard turn and find yourself in the Gulf of Mexico for a day of sailing or fishing. Or, if you’ve a mind to be boating, but prefer the quieter waters, just slip on toward the Ten Thousand Islands, some of which you can see directly across the bay from your balcony. Places with exotic names like Dismal Key and Sugar Bay are yours to enjoy away from the crowds. As you float between the islands, the resident herons, ocelots, and anhinga may stare as you wind your way through their neighborhood, but they will welcome you as their special guests.
Ultimately, your boating day will end up back at Shipps Landing where your wife and her friends have been enjoying a day of tennis on the condo courts or relaxing alongside one of the three pools within the complex. Perhaps you will want to consider one of those activities tomorrow. But, fair warning, should you choose to do that, Shipps Landing is not liable if the ladies prefer to go shopping instead.
Speaking of shopping, Marco Island’s upscale shops are a refreshing relief from the usual coastal beach-bum stores. Boutique shops and fine dining – formal or casual – are distinctive marks of Marco. And none of them are far away.
Whether you spend a month or more at Shipps Landing, and whether you boat it or beach it, you will feel the cares and stress of the world slip away during your stay. Of course, every day ends with the spectacular Marco Island – Gulf of Mexico sunsets at no extra charge. Best of all, you get to wake up again in the morning and have the opportunity to do it all over again. If you are planning to go to Marco, Shipps Landing is the way to go.
